My Friend Became a Host Mother

Today, I went to cafe to meet my friend. We restarted our weekly meeting to improve our English skill from today. It's been a month since we met last time. She became a host mother this month. She is hosting two elementary school students from Korea. One is her niece, and the other student is her niece's friend. She told me that she really enjoys it because she didn't have an experience to raise girls. She has two sons. She told me raising girls was different from raising boys. She said that even though her sons never ate a lot, the girls ate a lot and were more energetic. She needs to prepare a lot of food, and she has been taking them to pool for swimming everyday. In order to improve the girls' English skill, my friend has been letting them read English books out loud in her car while going somewhere. She sometimes talks with their school counselor, and she often participates in parent meetings. I thought hosting students is a really demanding job. I'm impressed with her hard work. The girls are going to stay in the U.S. for a year. I think they will improve their English skill because they are very young.

After finishing our meeting, I went to school to sign up for tutoring class. This semester, I'm going to take tutoring twice a week. I'm going to be busier, but I think it's important and it'll be good for me. I have many assignments for my writing classes, so I think I will need tutors' help sometimes.

Muji Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser

When I visit Japan next time, I'd like to get Muji Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser. :)

Muji Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser
I love smell of lavender very much because it makes me relax and helps me fall asleep. Muji is Japanese company, but there are some Muji stores in the U.S. Unfortunately, they are located only in East coast. I wish they will open in Southern California someday! However, you can order their products online. The Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser is selling for $69.50 online. Hmmm..., it's little costly. So, I should buy it in Japan when I visit Japan next time. There are three types of Muji Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser available in Japan.

Muji Moisture Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser 6900 yen = $86.25
This is the biggest one. It creates a mist 90-100ml / hour. It is perfect for specious living room.

Muji Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser 4900 yen = $61.25
This is the on available in the U.S. It creates a mist 25-30ml / hour. It is perfect for a bedroom.

Compact Size Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser with a Carry Bag 2900 yen = $36.25
This is a Compact Size Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser with a Carry Bag. It creates a mist 15-25ml / hour. It is perfect for traveling.
Muji Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser  &  Muji Compact Size Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser

I haven't decided which one I should buy yet. Haha. I checked some auction site in Japan, and I can get it cheaper if I make a successful bid for it. I have auctioned off many my products so far, but I have never purchased anything in an auction. I'd like to try it for my first time. I think it's going to be exciting! :)
When I was at Muji store at Narita airport in Japan, I found Muji Ultrasonic Aroma Diffuser three years ago. When I first saw it, I fell in love with it. Muji makes many products with very simple design, so their products can match any interior design.
Anyway, three years ago, I didn't know whether or not it was good price. After coming back to the U.S., I couldn't find any similar product with reasonable price. Today, I checked Japanese beauty review site, and many people have been leaving good reviews for this product. I thought I must buy it! :)

Shiseido Perfect Whip

Last Sunday, we stopped by at Mitsuwa, which is a Japanese supermarket, in San Diego. I found that they were selling Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil, which I introduced in previous entry. The price in Japanese supermarket was $1 cheaper than on Amazon expect for White Cleansing Oil. (The prices on Amazon may change time to time.)

http://amzn.to/1BYealC
They were also selling DHC Deep Cleansing Oil for $25. Amazon sells them for $25.99.
http://amzn.to/1J0ht0t

I also found they were selling Shiseido Perfect Whip, which is face cleansing products. When I lived in Japan, I often bought them at drug stores because it was usually on sale for around $4. While most American cleansing products don't need to foam up, most Japanese products needs to do. It's because Japanese people believe that washing face without rubbing is the most gently way to clean your face. So Japanese people prefer to wash their face with lather. This way, you don't have to put cleansing products on your face directly and you don't have to use excess amount of cleansing product. Just foam up with bit of it, and wash your face with foam.
This products can be made very thick creamy form. I liked that.
http://amzn.to/1xIZgTS

Amazon sells them for $4.99. That's cheaper than at Japanese supermarket! I read review on this products, and this has excellent reviews

Shiseido Perfect Whip Facial Wash

I don't know whether or not you can easily get foaming net in the U.S. I have seen it only at Japanese supermarket or Daiso in the U.S. (I found you can order it at Amazon.) Anyway, I suggested you to use it in order to foam up your facial cleansing. I believe most Japanese women have it. It is very easy to create lather with only a tiny bit of soap. Maybe, you will be surprised.

When I visit Japan next time, I'd like to buy Shiseido Perfect Whip Facial Wash. And also, I'd like to buy Shiseido Perfect Oil Cleansing oil.

However, I think I have used it before but I don't remember... Humm... Yeah I definitely did! I have used many cleansing oil products in Japan.

Going to Be Much Harder Than Previous Class

After class, my Japanese classmate asked me what the home work for next class. She didn't attend this class last week. That's why she was confused about it. I was little surprised that she is Japanese. I couldn't recognize that she was Japanese at a glance even though I usually can differentiate between other Asians. Yeah, her appearance was Japanese, but I thought she was Taiwanese. Haha... She told me she has never seen Japanese people in any other class so far. However, I thought that she was taking same class with me before. I didn't remember her, but we had the same teacher. The teacher in my previous class was the best I've ever taken, but she didn't prefer that teacher. She said that she didn't like the teacher because she was forced to participate in class. I think it's normal for American education. She told me it was first time to come to this class, but I think this class was much harder than previous class because we're going to have many presentations.

Coach Haul

Today, my husband and I went to Carlsbad Premium Outlet to get Coach umbrellas which my sister had asked me to get. My sister requested a Coach Kyra Floral Print umbrella, which I bought last month, and a beige color signature umbrella. Unfortunately, they were all sold out. :( However, I decided that I'm going to give her my Coach Kyra Print umbrella because I will use it once a year or so. Here in southern California, most days are sunny. My sister in Japan needs the umbrella more than I do.
I was looking through all Coach products carefully. I noticed that many products were new and were not available the last time I came by to the store. I was really excited in all the new arrivals. I ended up finding a beautiful scarf.
It was originally $128.00, but it was on sale for $36.96 including tax.
I wear scarf everyday. I always need many kinds of scarves for my daily fashion. I thought it was perfect for my new scarf. It was feminine and gorgeous! :)
After coming back to parking lot, I started to think that my sister may want this scarf too. I went back to Coach Factory to buy one more scarf before it was gone.
After coming back home, I found that the scarf was selling for $525 online in Japan. All Coach products are always very expensive in Japan.

I hope she will like it. :)

Mexican Restaurant

Today, we went to Mexican restaurant for dinner. This restaurant was recommended to my husband by his Mexican coworker. He said the restaurant serves delicious Mexican foods at a reasonable price. Many customers were waiting in a line inside the restaurant. It seemed like all the other customers were mainly Mexicans besides us.

Taco was $1.30 each. There were seven kinds of meat available. We thought everything on the menu was very reasonable. :)

We chose every kind tacos available, which were beef steak, BBQ pork, beef tongue, beef head, chicken, carnitas and pork belly, and a wet burrito with cheese.
Taco $1.30 each, Wet Burrito with Cheese $6.45
Tacos and a burrito tasted very good! If I have a chance, I'd like to go there again.

I Was Invited to My Friend's New House

Today, I went to my friend's house. Her family has bought a house recently. Before going there, I bought some Japanese snacks for her gifts at a Korean market.

My friend gave me a tour of her new house. All rooms were very clean and neat like a nice hotel. She provided me with many refreshments such as fruits and sweets.
I asked her what was that sugar stick. She told me it was sugar for black tea. It was my first time to try sugar stick!
Sugar crystal on wood stick

And also I had never eaten chocolate sunflower seeds before. I liked that!

We talked about assignments of our class. She told me about her summer vacation in Iran and showed me many pictures. Her family has a parakeet as a pet. It was playing with a toy ring and was chirping all the time. He was so cute. :)

The new class seems very complicate, but I think I can get through with it with her. :)

First Week of the Fall Semester

My first week of the fall semester finished today. My impression of writing class was very complicate. My teacher gave a syllabus of all assignments for this semester. All assignments were not simple. Each assignment is going to be finished in different ways and there are so many assignments. Actually, I didn't fully understand what I have to do for assignments. Maybe, I'll clearly understand when as the course progresses. Second class, which is advanced grammar and writing class, might not be too difficult for me. My teacher said that he would give a lot of homework. I have to finish 9 essays this semester but the subjects of the essays are almost similar to my everyday blog. I know I need to organize my essay more than my blog. And I also have to study grammar textbook as homework but I am comfortable with it already that I think it won't be as stressful. :)
First week of this semester was slow, so I just had orientations and did little homework this week. However, I have to study harder from next week.

・ have orientation : オリエンテーションを受ける

CVS Haul

I went to CVS to exchange Revlon 001 Honey lipstick, which I bought yesterday. However, 001 Honey was sold out there. So, I went to another CVS. I was able to find it, and there were many colors of Revlon lipsticks left there. I scanned my CVS card, and the CVS coupon machine printed a $3 off CVS coupon for Revlon cosmetics again! Yay! :) I decided to buy one more lipstick.
My cashier let me exchange nicely. I told her, " I'd like to exchange this. The reason why I want to exchange is that the package was already opened when I bought it." I exchanged 001 Honey and I bought 010 Darling.

This week, I bought 4 Revlon lipsticks. Hehe...
http://amzn.to/1WhLD4n

I bought 001 Honey, 010 Darling, 015 Cherish and 040 Rendezvous. This week Revlon lipstick deal is limited to 4 per household. I can't buy any more lipstick this week. But if I find good deal next time, I'd like to buy 020 Lovesick or 030 Smitten. :)

Shopping at CVS

Today, I went to CVS to get one more Revlon lipstick because I wanted use my $3 CVS extrabucks reward, which was going to expire tomorrow. I also wanted to buy the Revlon lipstick because it was a very good deal this week. I didn't think I would get more CVS coupons for Revlon, but the CVS coupon machine printed it again! I didn't expect it. Yay! :)) I found 001 Honey which I wanted to buy, and I checked it out. While paying at the checkout counter, the cashier complimented my watch. I told her that I bought it at Kohl's. She was surprised and said it looked more expensive than it was. I didn't tell her that it was originally $24.99, but it was on sale for $1.49!
I wrote about it in previous entry.

I like the leopard print. I don't think it looks $1.49. Hahaha

On the way home, I wanted to open the package of the Revlon lipstick. As soon as I took it from my bag, I noticed that it was already opened! I didn't notice it when I picked it up at the store. Someone had opened it and probably had tried it without paying. I don't want to use a lipstick which someone already touched. That's obviously disgusting! I have to exchange it soon. That's a shame. However, I'm thinking about getting one more lipstick when I exchange it at CVS because the deal of Revlon lipsticks limits 4 per household. I can buy one more! :)

The First Day of Fall Semester

Today is the first day of fall semester. I expected that it would be difficult to find parking space. So, I headed toward the furthest parking lot at my school because I thought it might be a faster choice. However, all parking space was full! I was surprised. I had to look carefully for a person who was leaving in the parking. I arrived at school earlier than usual, but I was late for my class. :P  It was my first time to take this class. My first impression of the class was good! My teacher had passion for teaching. She instructed us very clearly. I like that! She said the class would be very hard and would give a lot of homework. I think harder is better. There were not too many students. I was surprised because the first day of the class had usually been full of students.
Tomorrow, I'm going to take  my second class. :)

Shopping at CVS

This morning, I checked some advertisements as a usual Sunday routine, and I found that CVS is having a big sale for Revlon lip products.
http://amzn.to/1WhM2nB

Now, Revlon lip products are on sale for $6.49. When you purchase it, you can get $4 extrabucks reward. Which means it ends up being $2.49 each! Additionally, I had $1 off manufacture's coupons for them. It would be $1.49 each! I was excited to buy new lip sticks. When I was at CVS, I scanned my CVS card on CVS magic coupon machine. The machine printed a $3 off CVS coupon for Revlon cosmetics which I didn't expect it in this morning! Yay!
I purchased two lip sticks. The sale price was $12.98 for two, but I used two $1 manufacture's coupons and a $3 CVS store coupon. I paid $7.98 plus tax, but I got $8 CVS extrabucks reward for next purchase. Which means they were free.

I always wanted Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. I'm going to write what I got today in the next entry. :)

Goodnight Fellows - Best In Me

This song is my recent favorite song. The song has been used as a background music on Youtube videos. I often enjoy watching Youtube beauty videos, and I can learn new songs from them.
Her beauty channel is one of my favorite channels on Youtube. :)

Goodnight Fellows / Best In Me

Lyrics

Beautiful is your name
Eyes of an angel and lips the same
I can't concentrate and you're to blame
to blame
And I don't know what love is
But I sure do wish that I did
Because there's three certain words I'd send your way
Your way

If you believe
Believe it too
Then there isn't anything we can't do
Let's make this love story come true

Baby it's love
And it's bringing out the best in me
Are we in love?
Because it's everything I thought it would be
And now that we're together girl it's all for you
From now until forever I belong to you
Baby it's love
And it's bringing out the best
It's bringing out the best in me

When you say
Say you're mine
It warms my soul just like summer time
If you were a song I'd be the rhyme
The rhyme
And I could sit around on your floor all day
While you're changing your outfit a million ways
You ask me how this one looks but
You're beautiful all the same
If you believe
Believe it too
Then there isn't anything we can't do
Let's make this love story come true

Baby it's love
And it's bringing out the best in me
Are we in love?
Because it's everything I thought it would be
And now that we're together girl it's all for you
From now until forever I belong to you
Baby it's love
And it's bringing out the best
It's bringing out the best in me

Beautiful is your name
Eyes of an angel and lips the same
I can't concentrate and you're to blame
To blame

 Baby it's love
And it's bringing out the best in me
Are we in love?
Because it's everything I thought it would be
And now that we're together girl it's all for you
From now until forever I belong to you
Baby it's love
And it's bringing out the best
And Baby I'm saying it's love
Are we in love?
Now that we're together girl it's all for you
From now until forever I belong to you
Baby it's love
And it's bringing out the best
It's bringing out the

Collecting Information for NCLEX

I have been collecting information for NCLEX application. I have to ask my graduated nursing school in Japan to send some applications to Board of Registered Nursing. Now, I'm preparing for sending application form to my school. The Board of Registered Nursing says that to ensure the earliest possible examination date, request the transcript from your school well in advance because some applicants have found that it can take up to 4-6 months to obtain complete transcripts. So, I have to do that first. I've been translating all documents so that my school officials can understand. This is a lot of work.

My ESL class starts two days later. I must become busy with my English studies starting next week. I have to keep up my nursing studies too. I hope I can complete my applications as much as possible this week.

I think this is also cute.

This Leather Pocket Swingpack is originally $148.00, but it is on sale for $48.30 with 30% discount. This was actually $62 in previous sale. :)

Ashley Leather Swingpack
This Ashley Leather Swingpack is originally $148.00, but it is on sale for $48.30 with 30% discount. This was also $62 in previous sale.

This Madison gathered Leather Abigail Shoulder Bag is originally $898.00, but it is on sale for $447.30 with 30% discount. I like this design, and it is 50% off. But I felt it's still expensive.

I thought Signature Stripe Demi Crossbody was very good deal, but if I buy only this bag, I have to pay about $8 for shipping fee because my subtotal is under $150. I might pass this time. However, this sale lasts for 35 more hours. I might change my mind. I don't know. :P

Japanese Cleansing Oil - My Wish List - in Japan

I have been using Kose Sofymo Deep Cleansing Oil for many years. When I was in Japan, those were selling at an inexpensive price at any drug store. I used to buy them around $4 in Japan. In the U.S., you can buy it for $11.48 on Amazon.  (The prices on Amazon may change time to time.)
It says it can let the stubborn pore cloggers to slip loosely from your tight pores. It doesn't remove the stubborn pore cloggers perfectly, but it works. I'm satisfied with it. It removes all my makeup including heavy mascara and what I liked was that it didn't need cotton at all. Just use your finger. It gently removes your makeup. Most Japanese oil makeup removers are used by this method.
Here is how to use it.
Dispense into dry hands, then massage dry face to dissolve makeup (don't apply it on wet face). Then, rinse thoroughly. After that, you don't need additional face wash. Just moisture your face as usual skin care.

I also tried Kose Softymo White Cleansing Oil in Japan. It says it can remove dead skin cell with remaining melanin. It worked just as same as Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil. I bought it around $4 at drug stores in Japan as well. But it is $11.99 on Amazon.

These have refill products. In Japan, these kind of refill are found any type of products such as shampoo, dish washer, laundry detergent and even soy sauce. They are more inexpensive and environmental friendly. These Kose Testymo Cleansing Oil refill sell for $8.54 on Amazon.

I also tried DHC Deep Cleansing Oil before. It actually worked slightly better than Kose. But, it is expensive for me. I bought it around $20 in Japan. You can buy it for $25.99 on Amazon.

I've tried many other oil makeup removers. I also tried Neutrogena Oile-Free Eye Makeup Remover but I wasn't satisfied with it. My best makeup remover was Kose Testymo Cleansing Oil. It worked well and was very inexpensive.

When I visit Japan at the end of this year, I will buy some to stock up. And also if I found new other products which I would be interested in, I'd like to get them. :)

24-Hour Official Coach Factory Online Sale

Few weeks ago, I found out Coach Factory sometimes have 24-hour online sale. However, in order to see the sale, you must register at coachfactory.com. Then, you will be invited to the 24-hour sale from Coach Factory. I signed up, and I finally got an email from them yesterday. Today is the day of Coach Factory 24-hour online sale. They said they were offering 30% extra discount. I was excited to check their sale. There were many Coach products going on sale. All products on the site were discounted, but I thought some of them were not as cheap compared to in-store price. I looked over all products carefully, but nothing caught my eye this time. I found one watch was priced even higher than the retail price.
Andee Rubber Strap Watch is originally $158, but it is $195 now. However, it will be $136.50 with the additional 30% off. I know it ends up being discounted. They are offering additional 30% off, but they quoted the price higher than the retail price in order to discount. It's kind of funny.

Then, I checked shoe section. I have never purchased any shoes online because the size is slightly different with different shoes. I need to try them on before purchasing. However, I like looking for shoes online.
This Darena Flat shoes are originally $118, but they are $115 now. They will end up at $80.50 with 30% extra discount on Coach Factory.

I also checked Coach.com (not Coach Factory), they sale same design shoes but different color at more reasonable price.
This Darena Flat shoes are originally $118, but they are on sale $59 on Coach.com.

I thought products online Coach Factory were not always the cheapest.
I hope the next sale of Coach Factory will have a bigger sale.
