Traveling to Shanghai - 2 (12/27)

At Pudong International Airport, I found an interesting coffee vending machine with a monitor displaying commercials.

There were many kinds of coffee. I thought these might be expensive because it was at an airport, but I was curious to try it.
I tried to insert bills, but it rejected the bills many times, so I ended up giving up. :P

We should have taken our travel book to Shanghai, but we completely forgot to take it. :( Because we didn't prepare to make our travel plan enough. I was little worried about our travel. We were going to read the travel book on the plane...   However, we found Information booth at the airport, and we were able to get some booklet for traveling in Shanghai. The booklet became really handy later on.
Then, we took a taxi to go to the hotel. It cost about RMB 175 to go to our hotel, Salvo Hotel Shanghai. Our taxi driver didn't speak much, but we were able to arrive at the hotel very smoothly.

Inside the hotel was beautiful and gorgeous. There was a big Christmas tree. We were not allowed to check in at the lobby, the hotel clerk said to us to go up to the 31st floor to check in.

Our room had a living room and a bed room. I thought they were pretty spacious. In addition, the view from our room was very beautiful, and we were able to enjoy the night view of WaiTan.

We went outside to get some foods. We found food stalls for Kushiyaki (I don't know what these are called). These looked great, so we decided to order some. The man, who was selling, didn't speak English at all, but he understood our order with our gestures. :)

We ordered green pepper, squid, pork, and chicken. These cost only RMB 10 for all.

These were little bid spicy, but we loved them!

We also bought some drinks and ice cream at a convenience store in front of the hotel. The jasmine tea was RMB 4, the beer was RMB 4, ice cream was around RMB 4.
Internet access was pretty good at the hotel even though I couldn't access my blog. Around the hotel, there were many restaurants and convenience stores. We thought the location of the hotel was perfect. We were glad to stay at this hotel. :)
Our first day of traveling in Shanghai was already satisfying. We got really tired from long haul flight and jet lag. We fell asleep without planing for the next day.

I'll continue this next time. :)
