Catalina Pottery Tile - Paver Magnet

Today, my husband and I went to Santa Catalina Island. I'll write about today's our travel next time. At the end of our travel, we bought some souvenirs for ourselves at Catalina Island Museum.

These days, we have posted small pieces of paper with some new vocabularies on our refrigerator to improve our English skill. We own some refrigerator magnets which we bought during traveling in many different places. We need more magnets in order to continue to study this way. That's why we were planing on buying new magnets there. I finally found these Catalina tile refrigerator magnets.
Catalina Pottery Tile Magnets

Santa Catalina Island is famous for Catalina Pottery. I saw many beautiful various designed tiles on the Island. I became interested in their tiles and finally found these paver magnets at Catalina Island Museum. At the museum, these description read that these pottery magnets were made on Santa Catalina Island. That's why I thought that these were perfect for our souvenirs! There were many different designed tiles we could choose from, and we finally decided two tiles, which were $8 each. Because I love animals, I chose Catalina Island bison one and Garibaldi one.

Catalina Island bison herd has existed since 1924. Bisons were imported to the Island in order to shoot the film, The Vanishing American. The number of bison were increased to 600 for decades, but it's said that the population is currently controlled about 150.

Catalina Pottery Tile Magnet - Garibaldi, the State Fish of California
I saw beautiful bright orange fish from the Island many times. The fish is Garibaldi, which is the official marine state fish of California.

We really like our new refrigerator magnets, these will be our study tool. :)
