Whole Foods Haul

As I mentioned in my previous entry, my husband and I purchased some coffee at Whole Foods bulk section last month, and the Allegro French Roast coffee beans we purchased there tasted seriously good! These were so fresh! What we loved their bulk section was that we could purchase a little amount of coffee at time, so that we can try new freshly roasted coffee beans which we have never tried before. In addition, their coffee beans are not too expensive than we used to expect. The price range is $9.99 - $11.99 per pound, which is almost as same as Trader Joe's organic coffee price.
Today, we went to Whole Foods to see their coffee section again.

There was sample of Costa Rica Dota light roasted coffee, and he told me that it was so good. We usually prefer dark roasted coffee, but we decided to purchase this light roasted one. I will try it tomorrow morning at home for my first time. :)

These cans of ground coffee were so affordable. I decided to purchase Night Owl Spanish Roast coffee because I had never tried Spanish roast, which is the darkest roasted coffee.

Spanish Roast is very dark, so I will use this coffee for cold-brew iced coffee. I googled about Spanish Roast, and I found that the caffeine level decreases as the roast gets darker. I think it's perfect for me!

  1. Just as a heads up, whole foods' Spanish roast in the container you advertise here is _intense_ ...I had 1 cup last morning and this felt like I had taken 3 shots of espresso. I was straight edgy until 2pm with the one cup that started at 8am. Quite frankly I was very uncomfortable with wholefoods' product here. This was some intense Hunter S Thompson level caffeination.

    1. Thank you for your comment. :)
I also thought this Spanish roast was a little stronger than ordinarily dark roasted coffee. I think this is good for making espresso because of the darkest coffee. Actually, I've brewed espresso with it and have already used it up. Even though it was not too bad as espresso to me, I won't buy it again because it was pretty intense. Have you ever tried Whole Foods Allegro Coffee? They sell freshly roasted coffee beans at bulk section. Allegro coffee is the best coffee I've ever had.
