Carlsbad Caverns National Park, New Mexico - New Year's Travel Day 3 - 2/4

During New Year's holidays, my husband and I went on a road trip for 5 days. On January 2, after driving for hours, we finally arrived at Carlsbad Caverns National Park, in New Mexico.

We purchased entrance tickets for $10 each person to enter the Carlsbad Cavern. You can hike or take the elevator down to the cave. Because we didn't have a plenty of time, we got to the Big Room by elevator located in the visitor center. :) That day was not crowded at all, so we waited for the elevator only for a minute or so.

It was pretty chilly, dim and silent underground. I was glad that we had brought our winter jackets there. We walked the trails to explore the cave.

The cave is slowly created and decorated by water drops.

      It was spectacular!

There was the restroom near the elevator. I liked that the restroom in the natural cave was very unique.

It took us nearly two hours to explore the Big Room route.

At the visitor center, we purchased this Carlsbad Caverns National Park fridge magnet. :)

Then, we headed toward Santa Fe, New Mexico.
