Japanese Convenience Store Meals - New Year's Japan Travel Day 2

7 Eleven Convenience Store in Tokyo

My husband and I traveled Japan during this New Year's holidays. As I mentioned in my previous entry, after receiving our Amazon Japan packages at Lawson convenience store located near our hotel, we decided to have something for early evening meals. Because we were going to have a complete medical checkup next day, we needed to have lighter meal for dinner. Even though we didn't get jet lag even after the 12-hour flight, we got tired a little that evening because we walked a lot that day, so we decided to get meals at convenience stores rather than finding a restaurant.

Japanese convenience stores sell a lot of delicious foods with pretty reasonable prices. That evening, we went to Lawson and 7 Eleven. I'm going to share what we purchased there with you. :)

Noriben (のり弁), Japanese Bento
399 yen at Lawson
Noriben
Noriben, nori ben, is a type of Japanese bento box meals. Some deep-fried fish is over seasoned nori and white rice. This noriben had deep-fried fish, deep-fried fish sausage with aonori flakes, kinpira gobo and some pickles. I think noriben is not a light meal, but I couldn't resist purchasing it because noriben is my favorite Japanese bento!

Temakizushi (手巻寿司), Sushi Rolls
Shrimp Mayonnaise Sushi Rall (エビマヨネーズ 手巻寿司) for 150 yen at Lawson
Negi Toro (Ground Tuna with Green Onion) Sushi Roll (ねぎとろ 手巻寿司) for 159 yen at Lawson
Imitation Crab and Tuna Salad Sushi Roll (カニカマとツナのサラダ巻 手巻寿司) for 150yen at Lawson
Natto Sushi Roll (納豆 手巻寿司) for 130yen at Lawson
Temakizushi
If you have ever bought Japanese rice balls in Japan, I think you had no idea how to open the rice ball wrap at your very fist time. Even though it is pretty hard to get used to opening the wrap, you will notice that it's a very cleaver product. Just like that, I think it's not easy to remove the plastic wrap for convenience store's sushi rolls at your first time. ;)

Seasoned Half Boiled Eggs (味付き 半熟 ゆでたまご)
146yen at 7 Eleven
When I lived in Japan, I loved convenience store's half boiled eggs. You might think, "Anyone can cook boiled eggs! Why do you buy them in a convenience store?" These are actually very delicious somehow. They are lightly salted and yolk is moist. You'll see when you have one.

7 Eleven Salad Chicken (サラダチキン)
213 yen at 7 Eleven
7 Eleven Salad Chicken
These years, 7 Eleven's Salad Chicken (サラダチキン) has been very popular in Japan. It's not chicken salad. It's just chicken. It's seasoned steamed chicken breast, which is low calorie and high protein food. If you haven't tried it yet, you should have one in Japan! They are delicious!

Salad
130g of Shredded Salad 105 yen at 7 Eleven
Sesame Dressing for 22 yen at 7 Eleven

We purchased a bag of shredded salad for 105 yen. There were some dressing we could choose from. We purchased sesame dressing for 22 yen.

Itoen Oi Ocha Hojicha (伊藤園 お~いお茶 ほうじ茶)
500ml for 129yen at 7 Eleven
Itoen Oi Ocha Hojicha
Because it was cold season, there were many hot drinks we could choose from. We purchased this Itoen Oi Ocha Hojicha. Hojicha (ほうじ茶) is Japanese roasted green tea.

Kirin Hyoketsu (キリン 氷結), Chuhai
Grape Fruit Soda with Alcohol
Chuhai (チューハイ) is alcoholic beverage. This Kirin Hyoketsu (キリン 氷結) was one of our favorite one when we lived in Japan. This one had grape fruit soda. Even if you don't like alcohol, I think you will like it because it doesn't taste like alcohol. It's more like very delicious soda drink. By the way, the legal drinking age in Japan is 20.

By the way, at the 7 Eleven, I also purchased Kose Sekkisui White Washing Cream (コーセー雪肌粋 ホワイト洗顔). You can check out my previous entry, 2 Convenience Store Skincare Products I Got in Japan - Japan Haul. :)

After having early dinner in our hotel room, I enjoyed a public bath in this hotel. You can check out my review on this hotel in my previous entry, Hotel Room Tour and Review - Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia Gai - Tokyo, Japan.

Next day, we woke up early and went to a hospital to have a complete medical check up. I'll write about it next time. :)
